Originally from Helsinki, Finland, MGM star and Golden Globe winner Taina Elg passed away at the age of 95. She started her career at the age of 10 when a handful of fellow Finnish students traveled to Sweden after World War II to study dance and later Royal Ballet in London. While performing in London, she caught the eye of Edwin H. Knopf, an American film producer and secured a seven year contract with Taina at MGM.
Taina Elg appeared in the 1955 film The Prodigal, afterwards Alice, Les Girls, Imitation General, The 39 Steps, and several other screen and television shows including Guiding Light.
