Morris the alligator, beloved "acting alligator" has passed away at the approximate age of 80 years old. He appeared in a variety of television shows as early as 1975 until he was retired in 2006. While he is better recognized as the golf ball and chomping hand alligator in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore, his filmography includes Interview with the Vampire, Dr. Dolittle 2, and the Blue Brothers 2000. He appeared on Coach, Night Court, and along with Steve Irwin on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Morris was retired and transported to the Colorado Gator Farm and his age is estimated via the growth rate and his tooth loss.
